The 2020 Augusta River Festival held last weekend was again, a great success. These events bring a huge sense of positive community spirit with the inclusion of all age and interest groups and showcase our vibrant town and environs. showcasing our community to the rest of our Shire and visitors. Whether they are intrastate, interstate or overseas guests, they are all left with a very positive impression which encourages them to return to our town in the future and support our local businesses.
The positive benefits to local business might not be seen on the day but more so over a longer period of time.
These events only happen because of a dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly year to year sourcing grants and sponsorships, applying for permits, organising the requirements for the permit, all entertainment for the day including stages, sound and lighting, sourcing and organising stall holders, gate sales, traffic management, managing the financials and grant acquittals to mention just a small snapshot.
A big thank you from the community to the very small group who have worked tirelessly over the last year and a big shout out for others to please get involved in the 2021 event.
The Whale Song Festival supported by the Augusta Chamber of Commerce and the Augusta CRC will again be held on the June long weekend 29th May-1st June 2020.
Planning is underway to offer a great lineup of ticketed and free events, TBA soon.
