CHAIR’S REPORT

I would like to introduce myself to you as the newly elected Chair of the Augusta Chamber of Commerce.

My name is Andrea Lindsay and together with my husband Eion, currently operate a small business managing holiday accommodation in Augusta. Previous to that we owned Deck Chair Cafe, and prior to moving to Augusta owned and operated The Berry Farm in Margaret River.

Along with vice-chair Sue Beilken, treasurer Stacey Veitch and Chamber members, we are looking forward to another busy year ahead.

With Christmas fast approaching, the Chamber are again running a Local Christmas campaign, inviting local business to take part in the Best Christmas Window display. Also, a Shop Local for Christmas with participating businesses offering prizes for spends over $30. Put your purchase docket in for a lucky draw on 24th December.

On 14th December the Chamber will be hosting a Carols by Candlelight evening on the green at the Colourpatch under our Christmas Tree (more information on page 9).

The importance of supporting our small businesses cannot be overstated. It was recently stated by Dr Barbara Maidment that money spent in a local community should go around 5 times before it leaves! To help make that happen please support our terrific business community, not only in the main street but also the industrial area.

SECRETARY

The Augusta Chamber of Commerce is seeking the services of a secretary 8-10 hours per month.

The successful applicant will operate under their own ABN.

Duties will include but not be limited to:
Minute recording and circulation
Preparing agenda Items
Correspondence
Social media
